What Are Shamanic Arts?
Often the way people first encounter shamanic arts is through plant or spirit medicine.
In Anam, animist arts includes these healing skills, as well as craft, ritual and cermonial skills, community council and cohesion, and establishing care, justice and right relationship with the more than human beings creating our shared world.
We begin to witness the living soul and memory in all things and being as we take responsibility for our own senses. As our personal instinct and intuition integrates and we heal, we naturally want to collaborate with nature and folk to recreate a healed ecology from our own healed souls.
All shamanic arts have been syncretised betwixt cultures and folk over time, therefore there is no puritanism in these studies of animism, as all creation carries a spirit, a teaching, and inevitably leads back to the fundamental teaching of this creation;
love.
ANAM RITUALS 2026
Initiated by out of body experiences with each element in early childhood, Katie Ní Mhathúna went through the peak of her shamanic trials directly with spirits in 2015- 2016.
She began working with individuals and groups in 2016.
Since then she has worked intimately with the dead of her own lineage and others, supported shamans, healers, guides and guardians who are working in their own ecologies, and closely mentored more than 10 people to come into their unique transpersonal skills.
She is grounded in the privilege and responsibility of her white Irish indigeniety, and is compelled to mutual liberation of indigenious guardianship of our planet among our enitre human family.
One to One Sessions can be anything from personal work on your life-path, finances, relationships, connections, sovereignty and business.
Also welcome are enquiries into ancestral healing, possession and more esoteric issues for those familiar with these presences in their field.

‘I have come in to ecology with my own spirit, my family, and the world around me.’
I first attended one of Katie’s initiatory spaces in 2020. Over the years Katie has become my beloved teacher as well as dear friend. I have seen the dedication she puts in to this work and all she gives to be able to hold this space. It’s been beautiful watching how these spaces unfold, be they online courses or in person spaces. The purging, the crying, the laughing, the gas craic, the love, the authenticity, the people, allowing us to experience real human intimate connection. With a space held in such love there is great space for vulnerability, and honesty that we have learned to hide as we have deemed it unsafe in our day to day life. I often think after the spaces “This is what life could be like all the time”. Ultimately with Katie’s guidance and through the support and friendship I have gained through these spaces I have come in to ecology with my own spirit, my family, and the world around me. Anam School of Shamanic Arts is entirely non-lineage. You are initiated by nature and spirit, not by a limited human ego and therefore there is no cord or attachment and no energetic ‘tax’. All the energies you connect to are entirely within your authority and sovereignty is held in the highest regard in these spaces.
There are Medicine Bundles available where one can join 9 or 7 days of processes, merging a world wheel with a coven, mushroom ceremony or a grief shrine. Check the schedule to see upcoming medicine bundles.
We can often live without vitality, love without reciprocity, honour others despite their dishonouring and exist in familiar discomfort in a half-life in a half-reality. This work invites a deepening of roots, a broadening of the branches and sweetening of the fruits of life. It’s ideal for those who sense something deeper and richer and more vivid, and wish to see themselves in all that is.
The ethos of Anam School of Shamanic Arts is that Magic is a connection we all inherently have, it is only a question of what catalysts helps you remember who you are. This is entirely the purpose of this work, bring people back to their medicine in the world.
It is possible based on interview and will require 3x 21 day residential trainings with Katie.
Spirit work is powerful, it can lead to physical purging (releasing from the bowels, or stomach or brief fevers), relational purging (releasing unhealthy dynamics) and conditional purging (changes in work and location.)
When we are very misaligned from our spirits we can be carrying excess heaviness. Sudden lightness can sometimes be dizzying and bring on bouts feeling ‘high’. With grounded and authentic holding people can land more smoothly without expecting or anticipating that they will remain at this height ‘forever’. Everything balances out as a process or session integrates and life returns to her natural rhythm very quickly. This is not to say ‘the same’ but rather, natural rhythm.
